Holiday Card Challenge
MWR’s annual Holiday Card Challenge begins on Tues., Nov. 1. Gather your command, unit, schoolhouse, barracks, work group or official on-base/DoD affiliated organization together and fill out an application to compete in this year’s competition. Each team will be provided one 4'x8' sheet of plywood, one quart of red, green and white paint, and three paint brushes. Prizes will be awarded in the following categories: Most Military Pride, Best Holiday Theme, Most Artistic, and People’s Choice.

FOR SALE! MWR Recreational Equipment
The Naval Station Great Lakes (NSGL), MWR Department has listed for sale all thier excess equipment (boats, vehicles, arcade games, campers, picnic tables, fitness equipment, etc.) on the NAF Liquidity website. The sale is open now and will remain open until Tues., Nov. 8, when all winning bidders will be notified. Those interested in purchasing the equipment can register at (https://www.govdeals.com/). As of Tues., Nov. 1, the Community Rec. Office & Marina (B13) has new hours of operation: Tues.-Sat.: 8:30am-4:30pm, Sun., Mon., and Holidays: Closed.

1000lb & 500lb Club
Every Thursday Starting Nov. 3 | Noon-1pm | Gym 4
The 1000lb & 500lb Club is an exclusive weight lifting club for both male and female lifters. To become a “member” of the club, participants must complete one repetition of a squat, bench press and deadlift with a combined weight of 1000lb for males and 500lbs for females. Competitors will then be recognized on our Club Board at Gym 4 in the Warrior Zone.

- League Begins: Week of Nov. 7.
- Registration Deadline: Wed., Nov. 2 (submit team roster to Gym 440).
